Now that you are here you might be thinking why you should spend time at my
site as opposed to the other fine online sites dealing with the creative art of decoy
carving. Let me elaborate. As a young boy, I spent time hunting and fishing
on the Chesapeake Bay, the Lynnhaven River, the Currituck Sound and on
Chincoteague Island. I began carving decoys at a very young age. While a
member of the U.S. Coast Guard, I was a keeper of the historic Cape Henry
Lighthouse at the entrance to the Chesapeake Bay. During the many hours,
days and weeks spent in the lighthouse, I honed my skills as a carver of decoys
and continue to enjoy the art form to this day. In later years I was a waterman,
a fully certified and qualified sea captain, a charter boat owner and the owner
of trawlers. As recreation I built and raced sailboats in regattas on the
Chesapeake Bay. Accordingly the Chesapeake has provided both my
livelihood, my recreation and my entertainment and has favorably impacted
my life. Many of my efforts are displayed here, as well as the art of others,
and I hope you enjoy them. Please come back again as the site is continually
updated. Thanks for stopping by.
